Bench time: $50/hr

- I will come to your home or place of business to perform the work you need.
- * On-site service calls in Nanaimo have a minimum 2 hour charge,
calls outside the Nanaimo area (Lantzville, Parksville etc.) also incur
a one hour travel charge.

The Basics:
System Cleanup – $100
This is the most popular package and includes both hardware and software. Comprehensive memory and hard drive tests are performed, the interior of your system is inspected and dusted if required, Operating System patches and upgrades are installed as well as other updates to your installed applications. A cleanup of the Windows Registry, removal of temp files and other optimizations are all performed to help the performance of your system.
Upon request I will also install some of my favorite free software apps to fill the gaps in your system and to help you get your work done while staying safe. Such software includes free antivirus packages, spyware detectors and cleaners, productivity suites, multimedia applications, and more!
Data Recovery – $50 for an attempt – hourly rates beyond the first hour
I can attempt recovery of your precious data from a failing hard drive but – due to the nature of this problem I cannot guarantee results. Generally once I've been able to take a look at the drive I will have a good idea of what the damage is like and what I can achieve. Then we have a talk and you decide how to proceed after all your questions are answered.
Virus Removal – $50 for an attempt – results may vary - hourly rates apply
If you've been nailed by a virus or nasty piece of spyware and need it removed – give me a call. I can assess the damage and let you make an informed decision about cleanup. If your system has been compromised you need to know what the bad guys were after and what they may have collected from your machine.
Please be aware that some viruses cannot be removed and a complete reformat and reinstall of the system is sometimes the only safe answer. I can help you decide what your situation calls for.
Other Services:
Network Design and Setup – hourly rates apply
Many clients already have a wireless network but are unable to use it to the full potential, let me help! I can determine an optimal location for your wireless base station and work on extending the range of the wireless signal to let you use your Internet connection not only in your home but also in any out-buildings you may have not to mention the deck or hot tub!
Security Audit – hourly rates apply
If you use your computer for business then you have data to protect. Maybe it is your financial records, maybe it is sensitive customer data like credit card numbers. If you are concerned about the security of your setup give me a call. I can identify where your weaknesses are and then work with you to tighten things up and get you back in shape. Worried about hackers or nosy neighbors? This one is for you.
Network Servers and Security – call for details
Do your needs exceed the protection you get from that $40 off-the-shelf router you bought at London Drugs? Are you looking to do more than just surf the web and send email with your home network? Give me a call. I can provide you with a bulletproof firewall setup to keep the Bad Guys out. I can create a home media server for you to share all your music, videos and photos with the rest of your network. I can set you up with a solid email/web/firewall system to get it all done.
